The mission of the Scouts BSA is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
We offer a year-round adventure-based program designed to develop and encourage effective character, citizenship, and fitness training for girls age 11-17.
In addition to camping, Scouts and adult leaders enjoy activities such as rock-climbing and rappelling, backpacking, mountain biking, canoeing, target-shooting, day hikes, and more while accommodating the needs of today’s busy families.
We meet every Tuesday night at 7:30 pm.
We have resumed in-person meetings. We are meeting outside, rain or shine.
THINGS THAT SCOUTS NEED TO BRING TO THE MEETING
- Field Uniform: Show up to meetings in full field uniform (aka Class A Uniform). A tradition in Scouting since its beginning. A uniform demonstrates equality, identification, achievement, and commitment.
- Scout Handbook: Your scout handbook is vital to your advancement in the troop, as advancements are placed by the Scout and approved by signature from Scout leaders.
- Scout Spirit: A positive attitude is a key value in the Scout Law, and one that makes Scouting fun and impactful for everyone.
Boys interested in joining Scouts BSA should check out our brother troop, Troop 77, at Oak Grove UMC. They meet at the same time as us, and we typically camp together. It’s a perfect match for families with both boys and girls involved in Scouts BSA.
